Types of Acne | Identifying and Curing Acne | BiiBiiBeauty

Hello all my lovelies!
Today I wanna talk about one of the worlds most common medical condition (yes a medical condition) known as ACNE. We have all suffered in some way from this embarrassing appearance of red lumps on our skin whether it be on your face, neck, chest, or even your back. You can get acne anywhere on your body seeing as it is one of the most common skin conditions! You would think since everyone at some point suffers from acne, that people would learn to accept it and not judge people based on such a common skin condition, but we all know the world of beauty does not work this way.

We go through crazy measures to try and cure our acne, but the first step to curing your acne, is to know what type of acne you have! This is crazy important to know! If you do too much or too little it can actually make your acne 10x worse then it originally was! You want to be very careful when identifying and treating your acne so you can prevent encouraging and further breakouts or damaging your skin which can lead to pigmentation or scaring.

Types of Acne

If you are having trouble with acne, you want to identify what type or level of acne you have. Types range from mild to moderate to severe!

Mild Acne: This type of acne consists of black heads and very small white heads which can easily be removed from the skin. Black heads commonly gather around the oiliest parts of your skin which tend to be your T zone which consists of the forehead, the nose, the inner cheeks and the mouth and chin. Black head are very small pores of our skin that have been clogs with dirt from our daily lives. They appear like very tiny black dots of the skin that are not at all red or inflamed. You will also commonly have white heads which can range from small whiter pigment of the skin that seem slightly raised that contain a waxy substance that tends to be white or a creamy color. When these white heads become infected, they will because red around the white head and look inflamed and feel sensitive. When your acne becomes infected or inflamed, it becomes a moderate level of acne.

What will treat Mild Acne? Mild acne is always a simple cure. People will always have forms of mild acne due to being outside, build up of natural oils and so on. To cure and prevent mild acne, wash your face well at least 2 times a day. Use a moisturizer after you wash to help add that protective moisturizing barrier between your skin and our Earths natural elements. Use a moisturizer and face wash that best suit your skin type whether it be dry, normal, oily or combination.
You will want to exfoliate at least once a week. Since you don’t suffer from any acne really, use a face cloth to wash your face once a week or a exfoliating cleanser to help remove all your dead skin that can clog your pores. That is all you need to do! Treat you skin once a week to a good exfoliation and you will see less black heads and white heads.

Moderate Acne:This is acne that is inflamed, red and can be sensitive to the touch. This acne is not painful and in small sizes. They can start off as small red bumps on the skin, which is the beginning of a pore that has become infected with sebum, which is the natural oils your skin produces. It becomes infected because the sebum gets trapped within the pore, collects dirt causes and infection. When this acne becomes a protruding white head. The infection is at full force, you skin then compensates for the infection and tries to force is out by pooling white blood cells to the acne to fight off the infection. This is what the white head is made of. A collaboration of sebum and white blood cells. This form of acne can be persistent and annoying at times but with the right techniques, it can be easily treatable at home.

What will Treat Moderate Acne? Moderate acne can be annoying at times but it also easily curable. If you are annoyed with your moderate acne then you will need to follow the same steps for mild acne, which is washing your face 2 times a day, moisturizing and properly exfoliating at least once a week. This can drastically make a difference for your skin, but there may be times where you have a little difficult pimple that just doesn’t want to leave. For those you can use a cleanser that is made for acne prone skin. You can also find over the counter products at your drug store that will provide spot treatment for those times you have a tricky pimple. You can also see your doctor to get a prescription if you feel your moderate acne is persistent and you need a little help from a prescription ointment or oral pill. You more then likely will not need a oral pill though. Home remedies will also help for this type of acne is you aren’t keen on going to a doctor.

Severe Acne: This form of acne is no fun… you will know when you have severe acne. It is painful, constant and very difficult to eliminate. Severe acne forms cysts under your skin. Meaning the infection in your skin is deeper then the surface. It will feel as if something has formed under your skin and you have no way of getting at it without having to cut your skin open. This form of acne is very dangerous and harmful to your skin. It will form large masses that will take long period of time to form a white head or just wont form one at all. You will have multiple ones that will form anywhere on your face and can actually take over your face if left untreated. Severe acne cannot be treated with home remedies or with drug store face washes or over the counter ointments. If you have severe acne forming your best bet is to not touch it and go see a doctor. This acne can scar your skin immediately without you even touching it and can leave deep tissue scars which can take years and years to fade.

What will Treat Severe Acne? Nothing… You are screwed! Ya but honestly your best bet is to see your family doctor immediately and get a referral to a dermatologist. You want to get your acne cured before if gives you too many scars that can last years. remember all forms of acne are a clinical skin condition that can be treated with prescription medications. The choice is yours. There are many different prescriptions you will be able to take to treat this acne. Ointments usually don’t work well on severe acne and will most of the time only irritate the skin and make the acne more inflamed. Skin the pimple is growing under the skin ointments can’t really reach the infection and only cause more skin irritation. You will most likely need to take an oral prescription pill. You may get minocyclin, tetracyclin  or any other form such a birth control if you are female. If common treatments don’t work, there is always the last and final option which is Acutane. Acutane is not recommended until everything else fails to cure your acne. This prescription can have major health risks if not taken correctly and can also cause major defects if you are pregnant or get pregnant while on it. I suggest you try every other option before you consider Acutane but if you acne is a serious pain, your dermatologist will suggest you use it.

1. Exfoliation Tools
Exfoliating at least once a week can drastically improve the overall look and quality of your skin and even help to clear your acne problems. Remember to be gentle, if you exfoliate to much you can actually damage your skin which can cause more breakouts. Start off exfoliating once a week and gradually increase to two times a week once your skin has gotten used to regular exfoliation.
