Personally, I take my acne skin care very seriously as someone who’s suffered from mild cystic acne for around 4 years of my early adulthood. During that time, I learned as much as I possibly could about acne treatment, ingredients that work best to fight acne, methods of gentle treatment via acne skin care and most of all, all about Korean skincare routines. As such, I like to think with my years of experience and gained knowledge that I am at least at some level of an expert when it comes to gentle acne skin care treatments. On that note, there is a specific line I have been wanting to try for some time now that is designed to treat acne in a very gentle way. That is, the Skinmiso I’m A Helper acne skin care line.
Skinmiso I’m A Helper Review – Acne Skin Care Line
There is one reason as to why I have not reviewed this acne skin care line sooner as it has been available for a couple years now, that is that I no longer suffer from acne. I do of course get the occasional small breakout or a pimple, but in terms of acne, I cannot fairly say I have it anymore and have not had it for around 3 years(thank the lord!).ย With that being noted, please remember this as you browse through this Skinmiso review as to not be confused or expect to see drastic before and after photos as there is no before and after to show on my fairly clear skin aside from small skin irritation pimples.
Now into this acne skin care line review! The Skinmiso I’m A Helper line is an acne skin care line that is designed to treat and fight against acne by reducing acne-causingย bacteria and by calming the skin and restoring the skins natural barrier. Mean this acne skin care line can be especially ideal for those with adult acne. Let’s take a look at the products claims in this line.
The Claims:
Skinmiso I’m A Helper Toner
- Calming
- pH Balancing
- Restoring
Skinmiso I’m A Helper Essence

The product claims to this line are very simple and to the point, focusing on restoring skin while providing simple acne care via balancing the skin and fighting bad acne bacteria. This can be seen in the ingredients of each product, which are almost entirelyย consistent throughout this acne skin care line (which I will reshare for your convenience).

Ingredient Highlights
This Skinmiso I’m A Helper acne skin care line has fairly simple ingredients that revolve around select key ingredients of the line. Aside from the key ingredients which are; Kava Kava(Piper Methysticum) for skin calming, Kalopanax for fighting acne bacteria, Centella Asiatica for advanced skin healing, tea tree to fight acne bacteria, aloe to soothe and hydrate, sodium hyaluronate for deep hydration, citric acid for exfoliating, and salicylic acid(BHA) for unclogging pores.
Not including Kava Kava and Kalopanax, I personally know the remainder of the key ingredients as listed above work excellently on my skin to fighting acne. Aside from the obvious alcohol, the ingredients for these products get a pass in my books.
My Experience
Watch my quick review video below to learn my overall experience with this Skinmiso I’m A Helper acne skin care line or, continue reading ahead.
The Toner
The Skinmiso I’m A Helper Toner was gentler than I had anticipated. Since this is an acne skin care line, I expected the toner to “tingle” or even “sting” upon application, however to my surprise, the toner was gentle on the skin, slightly cooling, refreshing with a light tea tree scent(as there is no added fragrance to this line!). As someone who usually uses hydrating toners, I can say this toner leaves me feeling “unsatisfied” in terms of hydration, but it does the trick! I had zero irritation from this toner or any negative reactions. It was a pleasure to use!

The Essence
One thing I found interesting about this “hydrating” essence was the lack of sodium hyaluronate(hyaluronic acid) in its ingredients as the toner and spot treatment contain it. The essence had the same mild tea tree scent as the toner and was very cooling on the skin when applied. I always made sure to apply two pumps to my face, one per side of my face. However, this essence absorbs quite quickly, making it a product you need to spread quickly. For a hydrating essence, this product is the least hydrating out of my current collection. For myself, it leaves me feeling “unsatisfied” in terms of moisture, but then again it does not claim to be very moisturizing! I would say this essence is best for those with combination oily skin, if you have dry combination skin like myself, you will be unsatisfied.

The Spot Treatment
I used the spot treatment which has a cream/gel consistency as directed, on active spots that need calming and soothing. For myself, I tend to have trouble around my hairline and mouth where I now get the occasional tiny pimples. I applied the spot treatment on those spots and it certainly helped! It was able to reduce the pimples in size over the span of a few days. However, if you’re looking for a powerful fast-acting spot treatment, this won’t do the trick, but for gentle calming treatment, it does work! I’d say this spot treatment is best on inflamed pimples that need to be calmed based on my personal experience.

Overall
For my personal preference, I would 100% buy the toner again as it did what it claims and made my skin feel very refreshed and clean. The essence didn’t do much for my skin as I have dry skin and need a very powerful hydrating serum lastly, the spot treatment I’d pass on only because I don’t really need it as I don’t really get pimples anymore, but I would definitely recommend it to those who have sensitive skin with acne!
A note: If you are sensitive to tea tree oil, then do remember it is the main ingredient in this line!
