Hi Loves!
I am back with another acne treatment skincare routine review. Today I will be sharing my experience with the Vivant Skin care brand which focuses on Mandelic Acid as their key ingredient for fighting against acne, skin inflammation, post acne scars, dullness and uneven skin tones. I am more then excited to share my experience with this brand because Mandelic Acid doesn’t get much praise in the world of acids, at least not the same amount of praise in comparison with Betaine Salicylate & Gycolic Acid.
So let me hope right into it!
What Is Mandelic Acid
Mandelic Acid is an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) that works on the surface layers of the skin to speed up cell turnover rate. This in turn speeds up cell rejuvenation by exfoliating away scarring, pigmentation and uneven skin tone. Mandelic Acid is not only good as an exfoliator, it also has great anti-bacterial & anti-inflammatory properties making it ideal as an effective acne treatment. It has been proven to have the same anti-aging and benefits of Glycolic Acid and has even been proven a better choice of acid.
Acne Treatment with Mandelic Acid
8% Mandelic Acid 3 in 1 Serum Review
When it comes to acne treatment skincare, the first thing you should consider is getting your hands on a serum. If your getting into or are already into the world of serums and acids, then I highly recommend the 8% Mandelic serum from Vivant Skincare.
Packaging & Texture
This serum comes in a tinted glass bottle with an eye dropper applicator. The serum has a very watery consistency that absorbed fairly quickly into the skin. Upon absorbing, the serum leaves a slightly “tacky” feeling to the skin which is neither sticky nor dry. Which was a texture I really enjoyed as it left my skin feeling fresh and clear while slightly hydrated.
Ingredients
What I love most about this serum, is how minimal and simple it’s ingredients list is. Not only that, the serum incorporates some amazing key ingredients that can be commonly seen in Korean beauty products, one being Niacinamide which is extremely effective for brightening and evening sin tone.
Full Ingredients
Water, Propylene Glycol, Mandelic Acid, Niacinamide, Xanthan Gum, Polysorbate 20, Saccharomyces/Zinc Ferment, Sodium Lactate, Sodium PCA, Glycine, Fructose, Urea, Inositol, Sodium Benzoate, Lactic Acid, Fragrance.
Performance & Results
Unlike other AHA’s such as Glycolic acid, the 8% Mandelic Acid 3 in 1 Serum did not tingle or burn my skin when applied which is something I almost always experience with 8% Gycolic Acid products.
When using it 1 once a day at night time for the duration of 1 month, I noticed a significant reduction in post acne scar pigmentation or AKA my PIH. Not only that, I noticed when the serum was applied over acne pimples, the inflammation would be reduced over night. Which over course helped in a big improvement with my overall skin appearance and condition.
Personally, I felt this serum not only was great for night time use, but also was good for using both night and day as its formula was very gentle on the skin and did not one cause me any type of irritation, even though there was a small amount of fragrance. For me, it was a great acne treatment and post acne scar treatment.
Price & Where to Buy
The Vivant Skin care Mandelic Acid 3 in 1 Serum is not your most affordable serum. Running at $50 USD for 1 Fluid OZ, this acne treatment serum can come off as quite pricey. However in my opinion as a acne and PIH sufferer, it is worth the 50$ USD. The 1 bottle lasted me 3 months with daily use.
You can get your Mandelic Acid 3 in 1 Serum at the official website or on Amazon.
