Hi loves!
Today I am back with another cushion review! This time it is on the newly launched Etude House Any Cushion Cream Filter in Beige! This cushion foundation has been the spotlight of the Korean beauty youtuber community as it is a revolutionary cushion foundation design. So lets take a closer look into why this cushion has been all over the streets of Korea!
Any Cushion Cream Filter Claims:
- Deeply moisturizes skin x2 moisture boost
- Both light and high coverage
- Brightens skin with subtle green undertone
- Long lasting moisture
- SPF protection
These claims seem to give off the impression that the new Etude House Any Cushion Cream Filter is ideal strictly for those with dry or seasonally dry skin with some imperfections or uneven skin tone to conceal. As the above claims mainly focus on the ability to moisturize and brighten the skin with a lasting moisturizing effect. And coverage was thrown in there, but I was a bit sceptical at first to believe such a deep moisture focused cushion would actually be able to provide significant coverage.
So let’s start the review!
Packaging
Okay I’ll be honest, the main reason I bought this cushion was because the packaging. I mean just LOOK AT IT! Pink with halo graphic labeling, how could I not buy it!? Aside from the girly beauty of it, the fact that the Any Cushion Cream Filter features a revolutionary inner cushion is the secondary purpose I purchased this cushion foundation. The product itself is a cream type formula that is held in place with a special mesh design top. Keeping the formula in place with allowing the perfect distribution of the product onto your cushion puff or desired brush.
Oh and yes, that is the second interesting feature to the Any Cushion Cream Filter, it is sold with the provided puff applicator as well as its own brush which is designed to provide coverage!
Texture & Application
Now because the Any Cushion Cream Filter is a liquid cream formula and based off the claims, I knew this cushion foundation would be very smooth and that it was. Upon first touch, the texture is very dense and creamy with a very light presence of oil. When spread over the skin, it appears slightly blotchy as the product visibly is somewhat separated due the presence of oil in the formula which is not surprising for a moisture cushion foundation.
Upon application with the provided puff, the Any Cushion Cream Filter has an immediate cooling sensation with an instant cream feeling. Honestly it feels like applying a moisturizer to the skin, and that is exactly how it acts with the puff application, like a moisturizer. When applied to the skin with the provided brush, if feels similar to applying a mask over the skin. It feels very heavy until further blended into the skin.
Like other Etude House Cushion Foundations, this one contains a large amount of fragrance, however to my surprise, this fragrance did not cause me any irritation as of yet.
Coverage & Long Wear
Now this is the most important part for me.
When applied with the puff, I was only able to achieve light coverage to almost none, or that similar to a tinted moisturizer. However with the brush, I was able to achieve a lovely medium coverage. However keep in mind, I applied this provide over top of no skincare as I wanted to test it to its full effects. By this I mean, I was able to achieve a higher coverage then what can be achieve over skin prepped with skincare, as completely bare skin can allow more product to stick.
The puff provided a smoother and more natural finish while the brush side showed visible streaks upon close inspection after much blending. For me, I always prefer blending with a puff, so I went in with the provided puff to lightly blend out the streaks.
This cushion foundation did not do anything for blurring out pores or smoothing my skin texture as it clung slightly to any dry flakes I had an after a moment, it began to settle into fine lines. I set this cushion foundation with powder and continued my day.
After 7 hours, the foundation made pores more visible, creased and moved around on the skin, making my skin look much worse then it looks bare. Overall this is NOT a foundation to wear for the long haul, however my skin did indeed feel very moisturized all day.
Overall
Minimal to slightly buildable medium coverage for those with already ok skin. Not good for those with visible pores or fine lines unless you plan to touchup often throughout the day and not set with powder.
Only good for those who want a moisturizer. This works well as a moisturizing cream with bonus coverage. But it will not cover pores, will not blur skin and will not hide dark circles or acne scars or active acne pimples.
Will not look good after 3 hours, regular touching up is required. Only pro is that it makes the skin feel good and well moisturized.
