It’s been some time since I last shared my evening skincare routine for my sensitive dry combination acne prone skin. However, this time I will be sharing my routine with a bit of an odd twist to it. Over the years, I have rather consistently been requested to create an ASMR skincare video or rather, any ASMR video. I figured it was finally the perfect time for myself to take of the opportunity and not only create my first ASMR video but also make it an ASMRskincare routine video.
What is ASMR?
ASMR is anย Autonomous Sound Meridian Response. This is the technical term to describe the tingling sensation one gets when certain sounds are heard. Have you ever listened to a song and got a “shiver” or were sitting in a quiet room and a certain sound gave you a little tingle? That essential is what ASMR is. It also is commonly defined as “ear cleaning”, but don’t ask me why, because you’re not actually having your ears cleaned haha! I personally enjoy ASMR on the occasions where I am very tired but am unable to rest or relax. ASMR videos help to put me to sleep in the situations and is also the reason many others enjoy ASMR. Which leads us to my ASMR skincare routine video!

My Evening Skincare Routine
If you do not want to watch/listen to a 48 min long video of ASMR just to learn my updated evening skincare routine, then don’t worry! Below I have listed the details on my current summer skincare routine for the evening.
#1 Cleansing Oil
As I have gotten older, my skin has become more dry, as such, I no longer find myself reaching for cleansing foams as much as I did in the past, nor do I find myself using them alongside my oil cleanser. For years now, I have been using the Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil in the evening to lift makeup, dirt and oil from my pores and break it down. The cleansing oil is amazing for lifting debris out of the pores, making it especially ideal for those who suffer from clogged pores. I like taking my cleansing oil, massaging over dry skin to remove makeup, then wipe it off with a damp cleansing sponge such as the Klairs Gentle Black Cleansing Puff, then go in a second time with more cleansing oil to get any remaining makeup/dirt of my skin and repeat the exact same process, creating a 2 step cleansing oil routine. Not only does this perfectly cleanse my skin, but it also leaves my skin hydrated and lightly moisturized. I demonstrated this method in my ASMR skincare video.
#2 Toner
It’s always important to use a toner after cleansing to cool down the skin, dissolve any excess oils and tighten the pores. For that, I recently have been using the Skinmiso I’m a Helper Toner. This toner is designed to calm, soothe and balance out the skin after cleansing while containingย ingredients that encourage skin healing for those who suffer from acne. I apply this to my skin either just with my bare hands or with a cotton pad to remove any remain cleansing oil from my face. In my ASMR skincare routine video, I showed myself using the Klairs Toner Mate 2-in-1 Cotton Pad to apply the toner.
#3 Essence or Serum
I always make sure to use some sort of essence or serum after toner. I like mine to revolve around deep hydration as my skin tends to always be on the dehydrated and dry side. Recently, I’ve been using the Skinmiso I’m A Helper Essence as my skin hydrator. It is designed to calm and soothe skin while providing mild acne-fighting benefits to the skin and so far I have been enjoying it!
#4 Treatment
In my ASMR skincare video, I showed myself using the ByWishtrend Teca 1% Barrier Cream as my choice of skin treatment. At the time the video was filmed, my skin was very sensitized and slightly irritated, resulting in small hive like bumps on my skin with dry patches. This cream helps to restore the skin’s barrier to heal and protect the skin from irritants. I only use this product in times of need where my skin’s barrier has become or is starting to become compromised. I only use it on my areas of the skin that needs help such as the inner cheeks and around my mouth.
#5 Eye Cream
I always use an eye cream at night to help restore and firm my under eye area. It’s important to start using eye cream as early as your late teens and even early 20’s! This is because the skin around our eyes is the thinnest and is the first to show the signs of aging. There are plenty of eye creams on the market that ranges from liquids, gels and creams. The heavier the formula, the later in life you begin to use it. As someone in their mid 20’s, light-weight eye creams and gels are my best options, however, I do need to avoid heavy eye creams as they can cause me to experience Milia. For a long time, I have been using the Zymogen Soy Bean Firming Eye Cream as it is not too heavy while perfectly moisturizing and firming my eye area to provide the skin with the anti-aging care it needs.
#6 Night Cream
In my ASMR skincare video, I showed myself using the 23YearsOld Badecasil E Cream as my night cream of choice. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find this cream anywhere anymore even though I recently received it within the past 2 months. So it either has been discontinued or is going through rebranding… It is a dual AHA and BHA cream that its gentle on the skin while providing just the right amount of moisture and antioxidant care. I absolutely loved it to keep my skin clear and healthy. Hopefully, they will relaunch it. otherwise, my go-to night cream that I still use and have been using over the past 2 years is the Skinmiso Pore Zero Night Cream which I use on days I do not use the Badecasil E Cream.
#7 Mist
Lastly, in my ASMR skincare video, I showed myself using the Kopari Rose Water Toner Mist to finish my evening skincare routine. This mist is currently my go-to facial mist as it is very cooling, refreshing and lightly hydrating! Making it perfect for summertime use. I really love using it to finish off my skincare routine both morning and night. I also enjoy using it at random times during the day to cool down my skin and freshen it up if need be.
