HOLIKA HOLIKA LUMINOUS SILK AURA HIGHLIGHTER REVIEW

Hey loves! I feel like I have been a little on the in active side lately but that could just be my imagination right? I think I post the same amount? Maybe just 1 less? I don’t know! I have actually been pretty lately! I have some exciting news that I can’t wait to share! I will be travelling for the first time ever! So I have been busy with a lot of legal documents getting my passport and such!  But I will sare where I am going and the story to it in another post 🙂

Today as you can tell I am reviewing the Holika Holika Luminous Silk Aura Highlighter from Holika Holika Canada in Pacific Mall!

I have never actually owned a real highlighter before! Weird right? For being a makeup artist you would assume this would be an essential in my kit! But I am thrifty and always find highlighter to be over priced for what they really are. So I have always used eye shadows as a highlighter for the face and eyes! Crazy huh?

So why did I finally get a highlighter? Well because this one actually consisted of the exact same eye shadow colours I would always use to highlight! It was perfect for me!

It has 3 key colours that are essental if you are highlighting the face. These colours consist of a combination of pink, beige and white. 

These 3 colours are important because they provide the perfect tone when combined together to create the most natural looking glow to the skin.

The highlight powder itself has a cuper cute lace design on it which is a lovely touch! 

The pressed powder is super silky just like the product name. It is extremely silky to the touch and spreads very evenly and smoothly onto the skin.

Here are the 3 colours swatches on my fingers. This is only one sweep. A little goes a long way with the product so this highlighter will most likely last you forever! Which is amazing! 

I love how you get 3 separate colours in one! You can use any colour you want for different uses! I like to use the beige colour on the center of my eye lids to mak them pop then use the rest in combination to highlight my face. 🙂

Even better the packaging! Unlike other high end highlighters, the Holika Holika Luminous Silk has sturdy tight packaging with a flip compartment for a mirror and a brush! 

 I love the compact style of the product. It makes it an excellent item to add to your travel bag!

The brush itself is a very soft brush which isn’t the usual for compact makeup items like this. More often the not, when you get a compact brush, it usually is cheap and very brittle and rough. But this brush is fluffy and soft and picks up an good amount of highlight. 

But remember a little goes a long way with this highlighter so when you use the provided brush. Apply is lightly to your face, because one stroke from the highlighter on this brush can provide highlight to your entire face! Unless you have a very big face 😛

Sorry I know my skin looks a little weird in this video, I still had that gross acne break out so I had to wear a ridiculous amount of cover up to hide all the blotchy redness and irritation and pimples 🙁 But its gone now! But left me with a lot of marks 🙁

I love this highlighter a lot! It is my new favorite item to use. If I don’t want to wear eye shadows I just grab this and put the beige on the center of my eye lid and thats it! 🙂

So my overall rating?

Absolutely a must have! The perfect highlighter! 

You can use it for anything and anywhere and the packaging makes it perfect for travel.I recommend this highlighter to anyone who doesn’t own one yet. it is affordable, Has amazing Pigmentation, The shimmer is perfect for a natural glow and is even build-able so you can do some crazy contour and highlighting with it!
