How to cover acne scars products
You will need the following products or ones with similar high coverage:
- Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Pot Concealer in Lingerie
- Innisfree Longwear Cover Cushion N21 plus custom cases x2
- Cezanne Stretch Concealer 10
Step By Step
First, make sure your skin is clean and primed with your skincare routine. View my Korean skincare routine post to see what skincare I use for my acne prone sensitive skin. After prepping and priming the skin, wait a few minutes for the skincare to absorb fully. This will prevent caking and will allow the makeup to sit better on the skin.
Second, with a small synthetic concealer brush of your choice, apply a high coverage cream concealer or theย Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Pot Concealer in Lingerieย to each individual acne scar. This may seem tedious, however it is the most effect high coverage routine.
Thirdly, once each scar has been covered, take a high coverage foundation or theย Innisfree Longwear Cover Cushion N21ย that I used, and pat it onto the skin lightly. Continue blending into the skin with a patting motion. Do not pull or spread the foundation. Patting achieves the highest possible coverage.
Fourth, take a high coverage liquid concealer to any scars that are still somewhat visible. Gentle apply to the acne scars and let sit for a minute or two. Doing so allows time for the concealer to set. You can also use a cream concealer once again for even higher coverage, however doing so runs the chances of the skin looking cakey, so I prefer liquid at this point.
After waiting, blend out with the same puff used with the foundation. I use the cushion puff provided in my foundation, however a beauty blender also works well.
After blending, set the skin with any loose powder of your choice. Use a small amount of setting powder and do not use powder foundation as this can make the skin look cakey.
And your done! That is how to cover acne scars without looking cakey! I hope this short tutorial could be helpful to anyone suffering from acne or post acne scars!
