I love cleansing oils, they are a must have skin care item for me, especially since I wear makeup everyday for work. Cleansing is very important to me since I have sensitive skin that is prone to serious acne breakouts. Which is why I personally need a cleansing routine that deep cleans my pores without causing any irritation while maintaining the moisture in my skin.
Which is why I love cleansing oils. I have used 2 cleansing oils previously to the Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil and they were good enough to get the job done. So once I ran out of my previous cleansing oil, I decided to try to brand new cleansing oil by Klairs.
I was most interested in this cleansing oil because of the ingredients. This oil had such few ingredients and all the ingredients that were used in it were great for sensitive skin types!
Ingredients list:
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Isononyl Isononanoate, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate , Isopropyl Myristate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oilย , Ribes Nigrum (Black Currant) Seed Oilย , Tocopheryl Acetate , PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate , Polysorbate 20, Fragrance, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) , Carapa Guaianensis Seed Oil, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Oil ยThe Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil comes in a plastic 150mL bottle with a pump on the top. The bottle features the key ingredients of the oil which are:
- Black Current Seed Oil
- Black Sesame Seed Oil
The cleansing oil claims to provide a mild cleansing experience that deep cleanse the pores with ingredients from nature. Providing a deep cleansing experience that washes away makeup without causing irritation. Making it good for those with sensitive skin.
FIRST THOUGHTS
I first used the cleansing oil on its own. I applied 1 pump into the palm of my hand and massaged into my dry skin that had makeup on it from my work day. I immediately noticed this cleansing oil was on the thick side and felt very moisturizing. It was amazing for makeup removal. It more or less melted the makeup right off! After massaging for 1 minute, I rinses it off with luke warm water. It rinsed off fairly well but left a bit of an residue in some areas of my face.
SECOND THOUGHTS
The next day, I decided to test it with the same steps, only this time I would rinse with a wash close instead of just my hands and water. I soaked a clean wash cloth in luke warm water, rung it out a bit. I then placed it over my face, waited a few seconds, then gently wiped away the cleansing oil and makeup. This removed everything perfectly with no residue! My face felt clean and moisturized! Perfect for dry and normal skin types!
OVERALL
I personally really enjoy this cleansing oil, since I generally suffer from dry skin in the winter I think it is a great way to maintain moisture while cleansing. I mostly love it for it’s amazing ability at removing makeup! I use it every nice as a face and eye makeup remover ๐

I personally am someone who needs to exfoliate my skin regularly. I easily get clogged pores from dead skin cells for it is very important that I exfoliate my entire face as least 3 times a week to maintain a clear and smooth complexion.
So I had been dying to try the Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish for quite some time, and I finally got my hands on it!
This sugar scrub is one of the #1 sellers on wishtrend and now I know why.
The black sugar scrub by Klairs is made of natural ingredients to better suit those with sensitive skin. It basically is the perfect exfoliator for those with sensitive skin who suffer from forms of acne such as blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and even dry skin patches. Basically my skin type.
The Klairs Gentle Back Sugar Facial Polish claims to exfoliate away dead skin cells, remove blackheads and control excess sebum while moisturizing dry skin. It comes in a plastic jar containing 60g of product. The sugar scrub claims to benefit the skin by:
- Providing instant moisture
- Improve skin flexibility
- Anti-aging
- Relief from minor dermatitis problems
- Remove dead skin cells
- Remove and prevent blackheads and whiteheads
- Remove flaking skin
It also feature key ingredients that are great for repairing and moisturizing the skin such as:
- Vitamin E
- Shea Butter
- Cranberry Oil
- Andiroba Oil
- Black Sugar
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Black Strap Powder, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Petrolatum, Glycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Candelilla Wax Esters, Peg-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Polysorbate 20, Beeswax, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Powder, Fragrance, Carapa Guaianensis Seed Oil, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Oil ย
FIRST THOUGHTS
When I first opened the product, I noticed how wonderful it smells of dessert! I wanted to eat it ๐ I also noticed the thick texture of the product and how well its consistency was. There was not visible separation of ingredients even once the product was in the palm of my hand.ย I first followed the guide on the website which stated to apply a small amount of water the the scrub in your hand, then massage onto the skin. This method was very gentle since parts of the sugar melted in the water. So if you have extremely fragile and sensitive skin, this is best for you. But it you need a more stronger exfoliation, this method does not do the trick.
SECOND THOUGHTS
Applying the sugar scrub without water on my face was a little too harsh for me personally, but did an amazing job removing my blackheads on ย my nose! But I wanted to use the scrub casually all over my face. So I did what was most highly recommend, which was to apply the cleansing oil to the sugar scrub in my hand and massage onto the skin.
This method was perfect for me! Not only was it great on its own, but it was amazing as a makeup remover and exfoliator all in one! It removed my blackheads and dry skin perfectly while removing all my makeup at the same time.
TIP
After your day, apply black sugar scrub and 1 pump cleansing oil into the palm of your hand and massage onto dry skin with makeup still on. you makeup is removed in seconds and you skin is baby soft and exfoliated after! Rinses of perfectly with just luke warm water! Highly recommended combo that I used 3 times a week ๐

Last is the Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Soap which is another brand new item from Klairs! I was very excited to start using this soap because it claims to be very good for those with sensitive skin while still providing a deep cleansing effect targeted for those with pore issues.
The Klair Gentle Black Sugar Charcoal Soap is designed for those with pore issues that still want to maintain a good level of moisture in their skin while being able to use a product with gentle and natural ingredient. This is a facial soap that once again spoke out to me due to my constant skin concerns.
This charcoal soap claims to be the last step in the Klairs Gentle Black line for pore care. Hand crafted using natural matured ingredients for the best skin results. Uses no harsh chemical, preservative or fragrance making it suitable for all skin types, even those with sensitive skin.
It also feature key ingredients that are great for pores, acne and dryness:
- Black Sugar
- Pine Oil
- Charcoal
Ingredients:
WATER, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, COCONUT OIL, PALM OIL, SUNFULOWER OIL, JOJOBA OIL, CASTOR OIL, OLIVE OIL, THEOBROMA CACAO(Cocoa)SEED BUTTER , GRAPESEED OIL, Black Strap Powder , DL-ฮฑTocoperol, VOLANIC ASH, GHASSOUL, CHARCOAL, LAVENDER OIL, EUCALYPTUS OILFIRST THOUGHTS
At first I was a bit turned off by the idea of a bar facial soap since I would not have the most sanitary place to store it. However, I just went to the local dollar store and bought myself a glass soap dish strictly for the soap. Problem solved. When I first started using it, I noticed the lather was so thick! Unlike other soaps in general which have loose fluffy foam. The Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Charcoal soap had very thick foam where you would literally feel the product clinging to your fingers and your face. What made this interested was that it didn’t feel like any other soap I felt before, it felt creamy and moisturizing on my skin. After rinsing with luke warm water, my skin felt clean yes hydrated!
SECOND THOUGHTS
The second time I used this after using my Klairs cleansing oil and sugar scrub combo. I took my ElishaCoy 3D Spin Brush (review here) Ran it onto of the soap and applied it to my skin. The foam felt the exact same, only this time I was using my must have cleansing tool along with it. I rinsed with luke warm water again, and my skin felt fabulous and clean!
OVERALL
I love this soap. I think it is a great product and very pretty even to just keep on display in your bathroom. However I dislike it for it’s not so hygienic design, as long as your only use it with clean hands and store it in a clean place, it will be fine. Otherwise the product itself is absolutely they great finisher in the Gentle Black Line from Klairs. Best of all, I have not experience any irritation or breakouts! I definitely recommend this if you don’t mind the concept of bar facial soap.

My Current Routine
I use these products every day in my current winter skin care routine. They are perfect for me and my sensitive acne prone skin that gets dry in the winter season.
I currently use the the Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Charcoal Soap every morning with my ElishaCoy 3D Spin Cleanser. At night I used the Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil mixed with the Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish on my dry skin to remove makeup and exfoliate. Only mix with sugar scrub 3 times a week. I then rinse with warm water then do a second cleans with my Charcoal and 3D spin cleanser to make sure all the makeup is gone. Then I rinse with warm water once, then again with cold water to close my pores. Then, continue with the rest of my skin care routine.
This is a skin care cleansing routine I highly recommend to anyone with very sensitive skin that is acne prone and has issues with dry patches. Or, if you just overall enjoy natural based skin care products! ๐

August 1, 2015 at 5:58 amI know it’s an old post but could you answer my question? I’m a man and want to take care of my skin and pores, since i don’t use make up and like to keep things simple as possible, should i use just the charcoal soap and some moisturizer?
biibiibeauty
August 3, 2015 at 8:34 amYes charcoal soap and some moisture would be excellent.
For simple but effective skincare, I recommend the charcoal soap with the black sugar scrub as well as the C21.5 serum. Combined it will make your skin more healthy. ๐

November 30, 2015 at 8:17 amHello! Ever since I watched wishtrend tv and link to your channel I’ve been lurking with the prducts that you’ve been using. I’ve been looking for a gentle but deep cleansing soap but I don’t want to use a foaming cleanser because my skin is acne-prone, combination to oily, sensitive skin. Will it be ok to use the charcoal soap for combination skin? Thank you

July 9, 2016 at 4:12 amI use a cleansing water in the mornings, luke warm water is not cleansing enough and will promote breakouts for me *i’ve tried*. This oil is best as a makeup remover at nighttime

November 6, 2016 at 1:49 pmHi I have been researching about one of the product in this review and found your review, and it was well informative, but I really need some advice, I have really dry and acne prone skin and have been searching for the perfect cleanser. Is the gentle black charcoal soap suitable for my type of skin? Because I’ve been skeptical about cleanser in soap form as I heard that it will dry up your skin. Beside this cleanser, I’ve also been thinking about getting the cosrx low ph good morning gel cleanser.
Hope you will reply soon and thank you.

November 18, 2016 at 12:53 pmI personally have not yet tried the Cosrx good morning cleanser so I cannot compare the two. However I have always loved and continue to enjoy the Klairs once for 2 years now ๐
