Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Mask Review
Being the 3rd addition to the Midnight Blue line by Klairs, this sheet mask was designed to be a booster to the collection, aiding in the amplification of the effects the other Midnight Blue products such as the Midnight Blue Calming Cream and Drop. Aside from that, this mask has also been created to be suitable for those who have acne prone skin that needs a little help with taking care of the pores while also providing an intensive skin calming and soothing effect. As someone with acne prone skin, I can’t help but love the concept of this sheet mask.
The Claims
For this Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Mask review, I must admit the claims are very appealing and are as follows:
- Calming
- Decrease skin sensitivity
- Oil Control
- Pore Care
- Skin Cooling
These claims make this mask ideal for those with acne-prone skin, an imbalance in oil production, those with sensitive skin issues, those who frequently experience clogged pores and those who have heated skin either due to their natural skin condition or excessive sun/heat exposure.
The Ingredients Breakdown
Although these claims are extremely ideal for someone like myself, what it really comes down to is the ingredients in this sheet mask. Taking a closer look at the ingredients list, it is easy to see what ingredients will truly give our skin the benefits we are seeking, and which ingredients might not. Of course, these some ingredients might be amazing for some, while for others, they might equate to potential skin irritation. After inputting the ingredients list into cosDNA, we are able to see any potential irritation risks and the function of all the ingredients within the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Mask.
cosDNA analysis
*This chart has been directly sourced from cosDNA, the original can be viewed here*
Based on the below chart, we are able to see the clear function of each ingredient present in the sheet masks formula. All ingredients are listed as 100% safe to use, however, there are 4 ingredients that might cause irritation to some who are sensitive to that particular ingredients. Carrageenan being the ingredient of most concern as it has a mid-ranking for the potential to cause acne and possible irritation in some. On that note, all other ingredients are quite safe and will not cause any irritation or acne! Do remember, everyone’s skin is different and for what might cause trouble for some, might work miracles for others. Making it always the smart choice to educate yourself on the ingredients that work for you, and those that do not.

Texture & Application
Aside from the nitty-gritty of this Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Mask review, let’s get into how it actually operates in my personal opinion. The product comes in a classic “rip to open” packaging. The actual sheet mask itself comes in 2 parts, separating the upper half of the face(the forehead, nose, eyes) from the lower half of the face(the cheeks, mouth, jaw). Personally, this is a design I prefer from sheet masks as I always tend to have trouble with the “one size fits all” design of most as I always need to fold or rip them to fit better. However, with the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Mask, I am able to fit the mask perfectly snug to my face with room for more! Meaning this mask will have plenty of product to fit any face size or shape which I love! Along with that note, the mask itself is very soft to the touch, thanks to its pure cotton design.
In terms of the actual skincare aspect, the sheet mask is very saturated to the point of dripping down my hands! It has a consistency similar to the of the Klairs toner, only slightly more viscous. When applied to the face, there is a very clear instant cooling and hydrating feeling that honestly, feels wonderful, especially after a long day!
Results & Overall Opinion
After waiting the 10-15 minutes of wear time, upon removal of the sheet mask, my skin felt significantly hydrated, cool and refreshed. I even go as far to say that my skin felt plumper! The remaining essence on my skin absorbed thoroughly upon tapping into the skin, leaving an interesting sensation of hydrated, yet not oily. I could clearly tell the oil controlling properties of this mask did their job. The redness I did have in my skin(which was minimal) seemed completely gone and even the 1 big pimple I had seemed less apparent.
However, because my skin does not currently have any major skin concerns, I could not say for sure how effective it would be against severe redness, irritation, acne or oil control, but I do know for me, this mask is perfect for casual use. In my personal opinion, for me, this mask would be most ideal to use after being in the sun too long and as a prep before doing my makeup as it really does well to make the skin look plump, tight, hydrated and oil controlled.
